Foundations of Moodle Course Development *NEW $295
This four-week facilitated online course will provide you a strong start in building quality Moodle courses. You'll practice core skills and explore essential Moodle functionality while building your own course in your personal Moodle sandbox. At every step, Remote-Learner's Moodle experts will answer your questions, provide feedback and moderate discussions.
You'll have the flexibility of an online course, with the expert support of a personal training session.
Some of the things you'll learn in our Foundations of Moodle Course Development course include:
• Defining course settings to match organizational and learner needs;
• Creating topic summaries and labels to enhance course usability and appearance;
• How to easily add content through multiple resource types including book, webpage, and links to files;
• Utilizing the HTML Toolbar to embed Flash media;
• Constructing a variety of assignment and forum types;
• Developing quiz questions manually and through import for use in a Moodle quiz; and
• Managing gradebook settings and grade categories.
Course activities can be completed in 4 to 6 hours each week and can generally be completed any time during the week.
Online Moodle Course - Moodle Administration $395
Moodle Administration is Remote-Learner's new online course offering for individuals tasked with Moodle site setup and day-to-day user and course management. This four-week asynchronous course has been designed to meet the needs of Moodle administrators at all levels allowing for a wide variety of site needs and configurations.
Through the course, participants will first be introduced to basic Moodle navigation, terminology, and community resources. These activities will be followed by scenario-based lessons that will guide participants through real-world examples, common issues, and decision-making processes related to Moodle site settings. With these scenarios, participants will learn about the more important and frequently used administrative settings and features of Moodle. This information is further reinforced and enhanced with discussions in which participants can discuss the impact of various settings and relevant concerns with their peers in the course.
During the course, and for two months following, participants will be provided with their own sandbox Moodle site to allow them to explore, experiment and apply the information presented in the course.
Participants should plan to spend approximately four to six hours each week completing course activities. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a Course Completion Certificate.
Note: Registration for Moodle Administration includes one free seat in our Orientation to Moodle Administration Elluminate session. Details will be included in the course.
Participants will learn to:
- Navigate the Moodle Site Administration menu and utilize community resources.
- Designate site settings as appropriate to the needs of their organization.
- Create and manage user accounts and implement appropriate user authentication and enrollment methods, including LDAP.
- Define, modify, and assign roles to users within various site contexts.
- Develop site front page, course shells, and course category structure.
Synchronous Moodle Training - Orientation to Moodle Administration $149
For Moodle Administrators looking for an introduction to the Moodle
Site Administration menu, Remote-Learner offers Orientation to Moodle
Administration.
This two-hour online, synchronous session will be presented via the
Elluminate Live! Web conferencing system. During the session, the
facilitator will guide participants through the Moodle Site
Administration menu. Session content will include recommendations and
best practices for the more commonly used and more important
administrative settings. Participants will also receive a fifteen-page
guide to the Administration menu for future reference.
Through this session, participants will learn to:
- Navigate Moodle and the Moodle Site Administration menu.
- Identify and utilize Moodle's help features and community resources.
- Locate important and frequently used administrative settings.
